We frequently speak of “dysfunctional” relationships amongst people—breakdown, unhealthy attachments, using and abusing one another. The Bible tells us we often have a dysfunctional relationship with our material possessions and money. After all, our “stuff” is good, a blessing from God, but also very powerful, and therefore potentially dangerous to our souls.
