I am looking for a safe, affordable, kind and ideally Christian housing situation for us as we search for our new home in DC. I was a successful global change management consultant for many years, but the past year or two has been rough and I am looking to save money and find a community of like-minded women and/or a family with whom we may share our journey. I can afford roughly $1500 a month maximum in rent, which is dramatically less than we’ve ever had before.

We are very conscientious, hyper-clean/tidy/organized, and we’re also pretty creative. In addition to my consulting career, I have just written the first in a series of seven books for middle readers and I am creating a Christian role play game for kids as well. My son and I are definitely foodies and he is also into sports (soccer, track and swimming), debate and games.

I understand that not everyone is open to living with a mom and her kid. I am totally biased, but my son is pretty terrific if that makes a difference. 🙂

We currently live in a beautiful 2+2 in Navy Yard that I can no longer afford, so it is a dramatic lifestyle change for us. I realize that if I want to actually save money, I can’t afford a two bedroom anywhere safe and walkable to my son’s school here in the Capitol Hill area right now. We are open to areas surrounding Capitol Hill and perhaps other good neighborhoods that have safe, walkable Metro access since we mostly walk and use Metro to get around.
