Membership classes for Grace Downtown are held twice a year, once in the spring, and once in the fall.

Process for Membership

1. Attend a membership class: Sign up for a membership class and listen to the provided seminar podcast before the scheduled in-person gathering. Attend the in-person gathering to ask any questions you may have, and to spend some time with our pastors and other church leadership.
2. Membership interview: If you would like to proceed with membership, within two weeks of the in-person gathering, contact our church staff with a completed membership questionnaire and your immediate availability for 3 Sundays to have an interview with an elder at Chinese Community Church at 3:30pm before worship.
3. Receiving of a new member: During an upcoming worship service, new members will agree to the Grace DC membership vows and be welcomed by other members.

Importance of Membership

• The concept of church membership is all throughout the Bible, starting with the nature of God himself. He willingly and lovingly commits himself to us.
• The story of the Bible not only brings us into relationship with God, but with his spiritual family.
• Through the process of church membership, believers become belongers.
   

Standard Membership Expectations

• attend worship regularly
• serve with Grace Downtown Kids regularly
• serve as an usher regularly
• give regular financial support to the church in proportion to personal resources and circumstances
• uphold Biblical values
   

Standards for the Conclusion of Membership

• The PCA Book of Church Order, chapter 46, outlines what usual circumstances for the conclusion of church membership look like.
