True intimacy is not only rare in our time, many people consider such to be only a romantic illusion. God’s Word teaches us that in Christ we begin to experience true and appropriate intimacy, “nakedness without shame”. True intimacy means relating to one another in ways that are honoring rather than abusive, helpful rather than harmful, mature rather than immature. Said another way, the gospel that removes our shame enables us to move out of the darkness of false intimacy and into the light of true intimacy, physically, emotionally and volitionally.
