Plan “A” is our ideal plan, our first choice. Yet, because our wisdom is finite and we are subject to circumstances beyond our control all good planners have a Plan “B” for contingencies. However, God is different. He is not blindsided by circumstances or stumped, so He acts according to Plan A. Sometimes having a plan B is being a responsible human, other times it is a repudiation of a Plan A God–refusing to believe He is able and willing. Abram and Sarai learn to live with a Plan A God.
