1. What kind of church are you looking for or longing to be a part of? Do you think prayer should be a defining characteristic of Christian churches? Why or why not?
2. What would it “feel” like for a church to be a praying church? What difference would it make in our relationships, in the “feel” of the community?
Prayer is intended as the line of connection from the heart of the praying person directly to the heart of God.
We have an allergic reaction to dependency, but this is the state of the heart most necessary for a praying life. A needy heart is a praying heart. Dependency is the heartbeat of prayer.
If you want that splendid power in prayer, you must remain in loving, living, lasting, conscious, practical, abiding union with the Lord Jesus Christ.
