Black + Evangelical Film Screening Black + Evangelical is a feature-length documentary that profiles the history, struggles, and contributions of African American evangelicals. Taking us to the crossroads of faith and racial identity, Black + Evangelical is filled with candid interviews and eye-opening portraits of the resilient men and women who find themselves straddling the often clashing worlds of Black and white evangelicalism in America. Join us in Capitol Hill on October 3rd at 7pm. This event is free to attend, just RSVP here.

Join the Selah Choir! Each year Selah Vocal Ministry leads us in worship during our special advent concert, A Dawning Light. Let us know you’re interested in joining here. Rehearsals begin on Sunday, October 18th and run through early December. A Dawning Light returns this year, December 13th at 5pm.

Culture Care – Sunday Book Club recap

Members of the Grace Mosaic community met on Sundays this summer to discuss Culture Care: Reconnecting with Beauty for Our Common Life by Makoto Fujimura. A mix of artists and non-artist-identifying folks alike, we explored how our culture-making capacity as image-bearers deepens our walk with Christ and invites us to tend the redemptive activity in our world. In this group we explored the image of artist as a “borderwalker”, a role intended to create understanding and connection between those within and beyond a particular community. We concluded the study by practicing redemptive imagination for our neighborhoods, and how each of us might be a bridge between this world and the one to come, making the Kingdom of Jesus more real for our neighbors and our place. This group was the beginning of a longer conversation on how we, inspired by artists who inhabit the margins and bridge worlds, can live and lead in ways that point to the glory of our Creator God and King.
