What are community groups?

Community groups at Grace Mosaic are where we do life together. Through these gatherings, we nurture our relationships with God, one another, and our neighbors. The purpose of a CG is to:

• Foster communion with God and with one another outside of Sunday morning worship.
• Nurture people at various points in their spiritual journey—whether young or old, believers or skeptics, or people seeking to learn more about the Christian Faith.
• Practice a theology of place through hospitality and service to our local community, seeking the flourishing of our neighbors and city.

What do community groups do?

Community groups are a vital component of the ministry life at Grace Mosaic. In community groups, we study, pray, fellowship, and serve together.

Study. Our groups seek to be transformed by the gospel of grace as it is revealed in Scripture. Each week, groups gather for discussion based on God’s word, Sunday sermons, or other topics relevant for spiritual formation into the image of Christ.

Pray. Each group sets aside time to pray for individual needs and praise reports, as well as for the needs of neighbors, our city, and the world.

Fellowship. Group members develop authentic relationships with one another, sharing their lives and engaging in mutual care, accountability, and leisure. Our groups also seek to welcome those outside the Christian community by inviting friends, colleagues, and local neighbors to join in on gatherings.

Serve. Group members strive to meet the needs of their neighbors, both within and beyond the group. We extend deeds of compassion to our group members (e.g., babysitting, help with moving, meal support, etc.) and serve the city by investing in relationships with neighborhood partners.
