Newcomers Lunch!
New at GMo? Looking to get connected? Join us for a newcomers’ lunch after service on Sunday, June 7th! We’ll meet outside after worship and head over to Noyes Park …
Jun 15 • 11:30am–1pm

As our community grows and we welcome new members into our fold, our Staff and Leadership Team want to cultivate different avenues for fellowship and connection in our congregation. With this vision, we’d love to bring back Dinners for Eight!
What is Dinner for Eight?
Dinner for Eight is a great way to meet folks from Grace Mosaic that you may not already know. A sign-up to participate is sent out and after the sign-up closes, a coordinator will assign hosts and participants to create a group of 8(ish). The meals are hosted in hosts’ homes, at local restaurants, or wherever the group decides. The dinner should be held on any night within 30 days of group assignments. There will also be an optional topic of discussion or discussion questions should the group want to use them during the dinner provided by the coordinator (nothing too deep, but topics to encourage getting to know one another!). These will be sent to the host prior to the event.
How do I participate? Simply fill out the sign-up sheet by Monday, June 15th!
What does a Host do? The host communicates with other participants to decide on the date and coordinate the potluck menu: appetizer, main dish, side dish, dessert, drinks, etc.
How are the groups formed? As sign-ups are received, our coordinator will put people together so that each group, as best as possible, includes a cross-section of oldies and newbies, members and non-members, younger and older people, etc. The mystery is part of this avenue’s excitement!
Who cooks the meals? It’s a potluck! Usually, the host will make the main dish, and other participants will bring coordinating sides or desserts.
I don’t have room to host a dinner, or I really can’t cook! Our desire is for you to spend time together getting to know each other and include everyone. Try not to get hung up on your space or how good of a cook you are. The point is gathering! We want everyone to feel that they can participate. Groups can consider going out to a restaurant or to host a lunch or dinner outdoors picnic style if the group prefers.
What about children? While this event is typically catered to adults, we want children to be welcome! There is a specific question on the signup about children’s involvement for those with or without kids.
What happens after our gathering? We hope that these gatherings will foster new connections across our community and neighborhoods. As we observe participation, we’ll plan rounds throughout the year so if you’re unable to participate in this round, have no fear, there will be more to come.
If you are ready to jump in, please sign up below by Monday, June 15th!
